APILADO Y A HUESO
The pavilions have a unique advantage: their temporary nature allows them to disrupt the status quo. In the language of urban objects, traffic barriers have evolved into symbols of exception that alter the flow of city life. When arranged in certain ways, they signal urban events, transformations, or shifts.
The pavilion’s structure is built from stacked traffic barriers, purposefully using their disruptive quality. This pavilion challenges the barriers' typical negative connotations by forming an urban space for open dialogue. Now, traffic barriers—often seen as destabilizers of daily order—are reimagined as tools inviting people to question routine and consider new perspectives.
This project exclusively uses raw construction materials, stacked and assembled without adhesives, as if they were stored in a warehouse. Its structural design extends the materials' lifecycle. However, the pavilion’s impact goes beyond its immediate presence: each element used in the space will continue to serve in other urban projects, contributing to the city’s ongoing transformation.
